用1000港幣自己DIY設(shè)計(jì)了一臺(tái)學(xué)生用的3d打印機(jī)

因?yàn)檎n室沒有空間, 設(shè)計(jì)了一臺(tái)小形3DP, 學(xué)生上課時(shí)可以一人一機(jī) =]
一臺(tái)只用了HK$1000

e排會(huì)keep住testing, 9月中會(huì)open source全部設(shè)計(jì)出來
不計(jì)算filament架, 機(jī)身只有 22cm x 15cm x 15cm,
印的尺寸是8.5cm x 8.5cm x 8.5cm , 確保學(xué)生一定可以1個(gè)連堂可以印完, 不用煩 XD
filament = 1.75mm, JHead 0.4mm nozzle
不過冇加heatbed, 打算只印PLA (如果幾十部一齊印abs = 中毒)

步進(jìn)電機(jī)28 (不是35, 不是42), 不過行了一動(dòng)滑輪, 一來減少backlash, 二來倍大少少torque
Z軸是M3, 一圈只是升0.5MM (一般reprap用m6, 一圈升1MM)

9月中旬將會(huì)開放這個(gè)3d打印機(jī)的源代碼和設(shè)計(jì)圖紙。請大伙關(guān)注。

TinyBoy - Open Source 3D Printer for Student
A small , easy to build , affordable machine

TinyBoy is an open source design 3D printer. The size is just 15 x 15 x 22cm , even smaller than most of the 2D paper printer. It fit for regular computer desk. The design aims as an entry-level machine for student and newbie to learn 3D modeling technology and train for creative thinking.

Less is more

The maximum size of printed object is 8.5 x 8.5 x 8.5cm , which is relatively small than many other printer. However, it is really large enough for making things like figure and toy.  

The gain from the trade off is the cost down of material and maintenance. Take out components for making large printed object , the design become simple and lean. The core material is acrylic sheet and connected by metal screw. Therefore , the cost of material and building can be minimized. The expect bill of material is just around HKD $1,000/ USD $130.

Learning by making

The process of making has the opportunity to transform education by inviting students to be something other than consumers of education. They can be maker of anything , moving from being directed to self-directed through the process.

Tinyboy is designed for easy to build. The assemble from kit can be done by just using a screw driver. We wish student can make their own machine. Then they become a pioneer whose may make another one for other people. So that the use of 3D printer can be spread out to more student.

Compact size compare to Thing-O-Matic

It is my pleasure to announce that COSCUP 2013 organizing committee has accepted our proposal and therefore the Tinyboy project will be shown in the event!

COSCUP (Taiwan) is one of the biggest open source conference in Asia. Last year , it has around 1500 participant coming from Taiwan , Hong Kong , Japan and many other regions. This year will be held from 3th Aug to 4rd Aug.

Beside talking about the Tinyboy project, Parker Leung , the main developer of Tinyboy , will share the experience of using 3D printer in teaching and interesting projects that could motivate high school student to be involved on creative process and product design.

After everything ready, we hope can open source it at early of Sept.

Almost done, just waiting for a hotend.
At this moment, we decide use Jhead for testing.
However, we want to design a smaller size hotend for TinyBoy in future.

Here is the laser cutting drawing,
you can see only one A2 sheet already enough for a complete 3DP.


If your laser cutter is smaller size, don't worry, the largest parts only A5 size.
(That means, A5 size laser cutter will be fine, since my one is A5 size too.)

When everything get ready, we will open source within few weeks.

因?yàn)榻涕_學(xué)生用corel draw, control board用corel laser, 唔好用磨石板

如果只cut 3mm板, 可以不用升降平臺(tái), 但如果要雕刻其他物件 (有厚度), 就要升降平臺(tái)

我上年買了4部放學(xué)校用, 連shipping都系$hk10000左右, 運(yùn)費(fèi)大約$800左右, 不過要去貨柜碼頭攞貨, 之后再call客van自己搬

3mm板我行4mm/s, 不過不是行full power, 5想傷laser tube~

例如一件200mm x 150mm的長方形膠片

周界 = (200 150) * 2 = 700mm

如果4mm/s, 即700/4 = 175s < 3分鐘就切完~

control board有幾個(gè)片子可以選用, 我用開的是corel laser (有plugin可以在corel draw中直接控制機(jī)器), 而磨石(moshi)牌的control board.... 不好用的說(我之前用過... 要先export做plt.... 再import去佢個(gè)software切割......想死)

如果budget ok, 當(dāng)然要蜂巢平臺(tái)啦 XD

btw, 佢跟機(jī)只有抽風(fēng), 沒有過濾, 你可以在淘寶買一個(gè)好一點(diǎn)的(抽氣   過濾)
